Overall aims of the MiMethox project are
- the
development of cover designs suited for the sustainable reduction of
methane fluxes from landfills generating low calorific gas
- the development and validation of a method to balance the methane budget of whole landfills
- providing the results for stakeholders by means of two technical guidelines.
Thereby,
the project targets to contribute to a long-term reduction of climate
relevant emissions from landfills and to provide the foundation for
the participation of landfill operators in carbon emissions trading.
